Coffee stained background with "Iqra" (Read) written in brown paint. Surah Al 'Alaq written in brown ink beside "Iqraa", translates as:
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. He created man from a clot. Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, Who taught (to write) with the pen Taught man what he knew not. Nay! verily man is rebellious, In that he lookes upon himself as self-sufficient. Surely to your Lord is the return. Have you seen him who forbids A servant when he prays? Have you considered if he were on the right way, Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? Does he not know that Allah does see? Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, A lying, sinful forehead. Then let him summon his council, We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! Nay, obey him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)!

In the hadeeth Nabi sallallahu alayhi wassallam has been described as being more generous then the winds. Elaborating on this Shaykh explained that:
Allah ta’ala sends a cooling wind around the atmosphere before a bout of rainfall; this is something that is truly appreciated in hot countries. This wind is an indicator that rain is on its way. It is these winds that bring the clouds, and it is from the clouds that water is released in the form of raindrops.
Through the rain the people, the animals and the land with all its fields, plants and trees is given a new lease of life. The wind is thus seen as the instigator of the whole virtuous process. And it is the simile of this blessed wind that is used to describe the generosity of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wassallam.
However, sometimes the wind can be so strong, that it causes death and destruction to befall the inhabitants of the land. At other times the wind can be so slow that the clouds and subsequent rainfall concentrates in one area resulting in calamities such as floods.
But the wind of the generosity of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wassallam never brought any problems. It brought nothing but blessings. The whole world benefited and the whole world continues to benefit.
The blessing of Nabi sallallahu alayhi wassallam was such that it superseded even the blessing of the winds from the heavens and the benefits which they bring to man.

Alhamdulillaah, a couple weeks ago during the last week of February, there was an event where some of these paintings were sold at Birmingham University for the Islamic Awareness week of 2008. I have been told that £145 was raised altogether (I didn't attend myself). I am not sure exactly if this sum total is a combination of the paintings and something else, but all money will be going to charity inshaAllaah.
JazakumAllaahu khairun.
was-salaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh
"Allaah" written in geometric style outlined in silver on green background. Ayaat written on left side and top: "Have you seen him who makes his desire his god, and Allaah sends him astray despite his knowledge, and seals up his hearing and his heart, and sets on his sight a covering? Then who will lead him after Allaah?" [45:23]
"Hubb" (love) written on light pink and brown backgroud, with poem by Rumi written around letters: The way of love is no subtle argument. The door there is devastation. Birds make great sky circles of their freedom. How do they do it? They fall, and falling they are given wings. ~Rumi
"SubhaanAllaah" (Glory be to Allaah) written in black, bordered with dark purple. Patches of different colours in the background with ayaats from Surah Al Furqaan on tissue paper giving "bumpy" effect..
"Yaa Allaah" (O Allaah) written in top left hand corner, with golden border. Adhaan on right hand side of painting, leading from bottom reaching top of canvas.
